Sikapiyohkitoopi Inititiative
A new initiative inspired by the life and legacy of Wyatt Mad Plume, a young man whose untimely death left a deep void. Wyatt was a passionate and accomplished individual whose love for horses ran deep. To him, horses were not just animals, but loyal companions and integral parts of his life. In his honor, the White Rider Healing Ranch will serve as a place of renewal and healing, combining the power of horses with Blackfeet cultural traditions to support youth and adults facing mental health challenges, trauma, and substance use. White Rider Ranch, will offer a range of Equine-Assisted Services, including Therapeutic Riding, Horsemanship, and Equine-Assisted Therapy and Learning. Led by a dedicated team of Amskapi Pikuni Ponokamiitatopii (Horse People) from the community, our programs combine cultural wisdom with certified expertise. These services are designed to support the holistic healing and personal growth of Indigenous individuals and families, fostering physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through connection with horses and traditional practices.
