OUR MISSION

To honor our heritage as horse people by offering equine-assisted services rooted in Indigenous traditions. We uplift women’s leadership, promote social justice, and support youth and families by connecting them to the cultural heritage of Blackfeet horse people, the healing power of horses, and the Land in Two Medicine.

Two Powers Land Collective

Honoring Heritage, Restoring Balance, Reconnecting to the Land

Two Powers Land Collective is rooted in Amskapi Pikuni history, culture, and spirituality, honoring the sacred connection to Two Medicine (Naatookyookaasii). The name reflects the healing power of both the Land and the People, emphasizing balance and restoration. The story behind Two Medicine tells of a time when the Blackfeet faced a drought and loss of the buffalo. Guided by ceremony, the people sent warriors to confront Wind Spirit, who had caused the drought. Their courage restored the rains, bringing prosperity and healing to the Land. This story symbolizes the strength found in unity, ceremony, and connection to the Land.

Our logo features the Mad Plume family tipi, honoring ancestral wisdom, with colors—red for Shorty Mad Plume and teal for Mary Mad Plume—representing strength and resilience. The mountain in the logo is purple, a combination of the teal and red, symbolizing our deep connection to heritage and the Land. The mountain not only signifies our connection to the Land but serves as a reminder of where we came from, representing both heritage and the sacred space where our people gathered for healing. The word Land underscores the central role the Land plays in our identity and healing, while Collective highlights the power of community and unity in restoring balance.

Two Powers Land Collective represents a commitment to cultural connection, healing from colonization, and the strength of our connection to the Land and each other. It is a journey of reclaiming identity, revitalizing cultural practices, and ensuring the Land and People thrive together for future generations.
